Dear District One neighbors,

The District One Neighborhood Association (DONA) is organizing a study group to learn about the specifics of the Amherst Master Plan adopted by the Council in 2020 and to study how best to implement its recommendations to strengthen the North Amherst community.  We are delighted that our District One Councilor Michele Miller will facilitate the five Master Plan Study Group (MPSG) sessions.   We will bring in town leaders for specific advice and information, but Michele will lead the discussion and planning process.

Because many of the development, safety and transportation issues relate to all of North Amherst, we are inviting some District Two neighbors who live in Cushman and on the east side of East Pleasant Street to join.

The Master Plan is available electronically here; if you would like it printed and bound, DONA has had Master Plan copies printed that will be available at cost. The MPSG will meet for five sessions at a time that is most convenient for participants.  Anticipating a weekly gathering during June and July, we will determine the best time for all to meet by polling those who would like to participate.  We want to make this project accessible.

If you would like to participate in the MPSG or would like to have more information about it, please contact Meg Gage at meginamherst@gmail.com by June 13.  Also, please  pass on this invitation to others we may have missed.
